Step 1: Consultation and Choosing the Right HairEvery high-quality hair extension service begins with a professional consultation. During this stage, the stylist determines:
- your desired length and volume
- your natural hair color and undertone
- which method suits your hair (tape-in, keratin bonds, micro-rings, wefts, nano-bonds, etc.)
- hair condition, density, and any possible contraindications
You’ll also see the hair options in person and learn the difference between Russian, European, and Remy hair.
Step 2: Sectioning the HairBefore attaching extensions, the stylist creates a precise sectioning pattern:
- dividing the head into zones (nape, sides, crown)
- clipping each section securely
- calculating the number of strands or tapes for each area
Proper sectioning ensures the extensions will be
invisible, comfortable, and evenly distributed.
Step 3: Applying the ExtensionsThe application process depends on the chosen method, but the principle is similar: thin donor strands are attached close to the roots of your natural hair.
If the method is keratin/heat fusion (hot technique): a small keratin bond is melted with a heating tool
- the stylist rolls it into a tiny, flat or round bond
- bonds are placed 0.5–1 cm from the scalp to allow natural movement
If the method is micro-rings or nano-rings (cold technique): a small metal ring or bead holds the donor hair
- no heat is used
- the bead is tightened gently with pliers
If the method is tape-in:your hair is placed between two ultra-thin adhesive tapes
- tapes are pressed together for a secure, flat finish
- this is one of the fastest extension methods
Average application time:- Tape-in: 45–60 minutes
- Keratin bonds: 1.5–3 hours
Nano/micro bonds:
3–5 hours (depends on volume)
Step 4: Aftercare InstructionsProper maintenance greatly extends the life of your extensions. The stylist will explain:
- how to wash your hair without pulling the bonds
- which shampoos and masks are safe
- how to brush extensions correctly
- how to sleep comfortably with long hair
- when to schedule your correction appointment
- Most clients need a touch-up or correction every 6–10 weeks, depending on the method and hair growth speed.
